Tile Trim Guaranteed Best Construction Material Philippines’ Prices
What is a tile trim?
A tile trim is used to complete the edges of a tiled area, usually the corners where you would otherwise be left with an exposed tile edge, which is vulnerable to damage and generally gives the area an unfinished appearance.
Your tiling project will be finished perfectly with the help of tile trim.
It not only gives you a polished appearance, but it also helps to hide any sharp edges or corners that can provide a threat.
How to install tile trim?
The perimeter of your installation can be finished with one of four different styles of tile edge trim.
These include ceramic or porcelain trim tiles, plastic or metal trim, and stone trims.
Before you start installing the tile, it is advisable to match the trim’s color and material with the tile itself if you plan to use one to finish the edges.
The size and depth of the trim you require should also be noted.
It’s always a good idea to match the depth of your trim to your tile when picking it, as this will give it a finished appearance that is professional.
Choosing a trim one size larger than the depth allows you to account for the usage of glue when gauging this.
Typically, tile trim are placed in corners that without alternative and will be left with an exposed tile edge that can be aesthetically bad and unfinished look.
CALCULATING HOW MUCH TRIM YOU NEED
It’s crucial to take the proper measurement in relation to the length of tile you’re using to ensure you have enough tile trim for your installation.
Measure the edge of the tile surface and divide that amount by the width of your trim in the event that it is larger or smaller than the tiles you are using.
For instance, the desired trim is 10mm long and the edge you are adding trim to is 500mm long. 500 ÷ 12.5 = 40 tiles
In order to account for any unintentional chipped or broken tiles, we typically advise adding 10%.
Round up if the result of the calculation is not a whole number.
TYPES OF TRIM
Tile trims are available in a range of different shapes and designs as a plastic or metal strip.
For a seamless appearance, you can match the tile’s profile color to the trim, or you can add a contrasting accent, such a metallic trim over a colored ceramic tile.
Additionally, they are available in a variety of finishes, giving you a variety of design options and the freedom to choose the perfect finish for the project.
