A grille is a specific device used to feed and withdraw air vertically without any distortion.
The term “vent” refers to all supply and return air sources connected to a central air-conditioning system. Vents include all registers, grilles, and returns. Home and building owners do not need to understand the distinction between air registers and grilles.
A grille is a vent cover that allows air to be blown into or out of a room and returned to the central heating or cooling unit. These are prevalent if you have central heating or air conditioning. Because a grille lacks a damper to limit air flow, air is allowed to flow freely. The damper present on registers is not seen on grilles.
These devices are typically installed in the floors, walls, doors, ceilings, and ducts. Some of these devices are specifically built for horizontal and vertical placement, but floor devices are strong enough to endure foot traffic.
It can be finished in white, any other color, anodized aluminum, stainless steel, or chrome.
