Floor Control Valve Assembly Guaranteed Best Construction Material Philippines’ Prices
What is a control valve?
Power-operated control valves are used to control or modify the flow of various fluids, including water, steam, oil, and gas.
It is an example of a final control element and is an essential component of a control loop.
The Control Valve is the most widely utilized final control element in modern industry.
What is a Control valve actuator?
It is possible to operate a control valve hydraulically, pneumatically, or electrically.
A controller, like a PLC, sends a signal to a control valve so that it can move and alter the flow.
The control valve might need a device to convert the electrical signal from the PLC because it is an electrical signal in order for it to work.
There are two distinct parts to a control valve: the actuator and the valve.
Control valve operation
The device that supplies the force needed to move the valve and is attached to it through the valve stem is called the actuator.
The actuator can be operated electrically, pneumatically, or hydraulically, as we previously stated. The “Pneumatic Actuator” is the most widely used and dependable type.
To function, a controller like a PLC or DCS sends a signal to the control valve.
The setpoint is the desired flow value that the controller compares the actual flow rate to.
In order to move the valve and raise the flow rate to the setpoint value, the controller will generate an output.
Control valve fail-safe mode
When a control signal is lost, a control valve will fail to a specific position due to the design of pneumatic actuators.
The rubber diaphragm presses against the spring as the supply air pressure rises, forcing the valve stem into the valve body.
The spring will force the valve stem out of the body as the supply air pressure drops.
The term “fail-safe mode” refers to the position to which the control valve is moved in the event of a signal loss. The control valve’s application determines the kind of fail-safe mode to be used.
The actuator causes the valve to close in a Fail-Closed Control Valve.
The actuator causes the valve to open in a Fail-Open Control Valve.
