PVC is available in two basic types: rigid (also known as RPVC) and flexible. PVC in its rigid form is employed in pipe construction as well as in profile applications, such doors and windows. Plastic bottles, non-food containers, food-covering sheets, and plastic cards are also made with it (such as bank or membership cards). Plasticizers can be added to make it softer and more flexible; phthalates are the most popular choice. It is also used in many other industries where rubber is substituted in this form, including plumbing, imitation leather, flooring, signage, phonograph records, inflatable items, and the manufacture of canvas when combined with cotton or linen.
PVC pipes are the mainly used construction material for plumbing and sanitary works.
Sewage pipes, water mains, and irrigation systems are frequently made with PVC pipes. PVC pipes are extremely long-lasting, lightweight, strong, resilient, and easily recycled, making them affordable and environmentally friendly. Because PVC pipes have a smooth surface and experience less friction than pipes constructed of cast iron or concrete, the water flows more quickly through them. Additionally, PVC pipes can be produced in a variety of lengths, wall thicknesses, and diameters in accordance with global sizing standards like DIN 8061, ASTM D1785, and ASTM F441.
PVC pipes have long lasting properties that makes them very usable in various pipe works.
A PVC pipes are very easy to install, light weight, durable, recyclable and strong but also cost efficient and very sustainable.
PVC extruders are put under a lot of stress and friction because of the characteristics of PVC plastic. This means that PVC pipe production lines need specialist extruders with a twin screw extruder configuration and feature sturdy construction materials that can endure the challenging PVC extruder operating conditions in order to ensure a long service life.
